Getting Started

So you're interested in getting your son involved with GA-2016?  That's great!  The remainder of this page will go over the steps you will need to take to make that happen.  Think of this as a checklist that you can go by that will include links to important documents and websites you'll need in the process.

Step 1 - Visit the Troop (OPTIONAL)

Trail Life USA allows a family to visit and participate in one regular troop meeting prior to registering your son with Trail Life and the Troop.  This is limited to one meeting due to requirements of the national level insurance policy that protects your son while attending Trail Life.  There are no exceptions to this rule.

Step 2 - Connect with the Troop

There are two ways to connect with us.

Step 3 - Create a Trail Life Connect Account & Register Your Son

Completing Step 2 will result in you receiving an email from Trail Life Connect with an invitation to create an account.  Membership gives you access to the Troop's Trail Life Connect web site, provides insurance coverage for eligible Troop activities, allows you to apply for leadership roles, and opens up the world of Trail Life USA adventure, character, and leadership opportunities for you and your son.  For step-by-step directions on this process please see Registration Directions.  For more detailed directions on this step, please download and view the TLC Registration Directions PDF.

NOTE: This step requires you to pay the $33.25 annual membership for your son.  This membership fee will be due annually on the anniversary of your last payment date.  If you have a hardship, please speak privately to Troop leadership to discuss options.

Step 4 - Complete Health and Medical Forms for Both You and Your Son

Fill in and return a Health and Medical Form for both you and your son.  You may bring this printed out to your first regular meeting or you may submit them via email to byancey@gmail.com.
