Getting Started

So you're interested in getting your daughter involved with GA-2016? That's great! The remainder of this page will go over the steps you will need to take to make that happen. Think of this as a checklist that you can go by that will include links to important documents and websites you'll need in the process.

Step 1 - Visit the Troop (OPTIONAL)

American Heritage Girls (AHG) allows a family to visit and participate in one regular troop meeting prior to registering your daughter with AHG and the Troop. This is limited to one meeting due to requirements of the national level insurance policy that protects your daughter while attending Trail Life. There are no exceptions to this rule.

Step 2 - Connect with the Troop

There are two ways to connect with us.

If you have already visited with us, please just provide your email address to the Troop Coordinator at the meeting.
You may also utilize Find a Troop on the American Heritage Girls website. Just search your ZIP code or browse the map to find GA-2016, then click the Connect with Troop GA-2016 button. Fill in the information requested, and we will receive your connection request.

Step 3 - Create an AHG Family Account & Register Your Daughter

Completing Step 2 will result in you receiving an email from AHG Family with an invitation to create an account. Membership gives you access to the Troop's AHG Family web site, provides insurance coverage for eligible Troop activities, allows you to apply for leadership roles, and opens up the world of American Heritage Girls adventure, character, and leadership opportunities for you and your daughter. NOTE: This step requires you to pay the $40.00 annual membership for your daughter. This membership fee will be due annually at the beginning of the program year. If you have a hardship, please speak privately to Troop leadership to discuss options.

Step 4 - Complete and Return Forms

Fill in and return each of the forms below. You may bring these printed out to your first regular meeting or you may submit them via email.

Health and Medical Form (one form for you and one for your daughter)
Request for Administration of Medication Form

Step 5 - Review Other Important Documents
