AHG Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is American Heritage Girls all about?

American Heritage Girls (AHG) was founded by a group of parents wanting a faith-based, scout-type character development program for their daughters in 1995. The AHG Program is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. AHG girls across the nation and the globe participate in badge programs, service projects, leadership opportunities, and outdoor experiences, all with an emphasis on Christian values and family involvement.

What is the cost to participate in the program?

Can I drop my child off at the Troop meetings?

Yes.  We understand that life is busy and sometimes an hour of freedom to run an errand or take a breath is needed.  We welcome girls to participate that must be dropped off for the meetings.  You must come in and sign your daughter in and come in to sign them out.

That being said, we want to encourage parents to become involved in the Troop.  GA-2016 exists because of volunteer parents who give their time to organize activities and participate in the weekly Troop meetings.  There are many levels of involvement, and none of them are unimportant.  Maybe you are comfortable being a registered adult who can function as an official "Two Deep" person in a Patrol.  Perhaps you are able to teach a particular badge because it is an interest of yours.  Some can take on leadership of a Patrol and plan activities from week to week.  The point is that the Troop needs you!  As you settle into Troop membership please speak with existing leadership to find out how you can help!
